Inside Leicester City’s academy pathway as Matt Rains reveals what makes it work and ‘golden threads’

Leicester City Under-18s coach Rains has detailed how the club's academy functions, highlighting the shared "golden threads" linking youth development with the senior team. Rains, who recently took charge of the Under-18s after Adam Barradell's departure, credited first-team manager Russell Martin for maintaining open communication and aligning playing styles across all age groups at the Seagrave training facility.

Rains emphasized the significance of senior players and staff, including first-team coach Andy King and Under-21s boss Leon McSweeney, who share their professional experiences with rising prospects. Leicester's youth setup continues to produce talent for the first team, with recent integration including players such as Will Alves, Sammy Braybrooke, and Louis Page.
