Bath boss Johann van Graan insists he will play a waiting game before opting to use the £400,000 injury dispensation money potentially at his disposal following Santi Carreras’ season-ending injury.

Bath head coach Johann van Graan has confirmed he will not rush into using the club's £400,000 injury dispensation credit following a season-ending injury to Santi Carreras. The Argentina international suffered an ACL tear during Bath's 23-5 defeat to Gloucester. Under league rules, clubs can apply for salary cap relief up to £400,000 for players sidelined for at least 12 weeks, provided the replacement plays in a comparable position.
Van Graan indicated he will assess existing squad options before seeking outside recruitment. Backline players including Tom de Glanville, Henry Arundell, and Ciaran Donoghue provide cover, alongside youth prospects. Meanwhile, Bath also faces front-row depth concerns after loose-head prop Scott Kirk sustained a toe injury, potentially prompting loan recalls.
