Roosters supremo Nick Politis has declared Sam Walker’s time at the club is “all over”.
Sydney Roosters chairman Nick Politis has declared that halfback Sam Walker's time at the club is officially over. The decision came after the Roosters withdrew a three-year contract extension offer worth up to $3.6 million across 2028 to 2030, with incentives potentially lifting the deal beyond $4.2 million. Talks collapsed when Walker's management requested a $300,000 increase to the base salary, prompting Politis to instruct recruitment chief Joel Carbone to pull the offer.\n\nWalker is contracted for 2027 but can formally negotiate with rival clubs beginning November 1. Head coach Trent Robinson and the Roosters are reportedly prepared to look toward Toby Rodwell and Hugo Savala, while Walker has already been linked to the Western Bears, rugby union, and a potential swap involving North Queensland Cowboys playmaker Tom Dearden.
