49ers QB Brock Purdy explains how Christian McCaffrey's thigh injury affected the offense against the Falcons and why his absence presented challenges.

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey suffered a thigh injury against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. After scoring an early rushing touchdown, McCaffrey exited on the next drive for sideline treatment and sat out the remainder of the first half. He returned to play in the third quarter but acknowledged afterward that he was not competing at 100 percent.
Quarterback Brock Purdy noted that losing McCaffrey forced offensive adjustments and gave opportunities to young running backs Kaelon Black and Jordan James. McCaffrey expressed confidence that he will fully recover during the 49ers' upcoming bye week before they host the Las Vegas Raiders on November 8 at Levi's Stadium.
