The Carolina Panthers have fired defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero following a 27-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Carolina named defensive line coach Todd Wash as interim defensive coordinator. The Panthers started the season 3-4 while ranking last in the league in rushing yards allowed per game.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are scheduled to host the Panthers at Acrisure Stadium in Week 16. Steelers running back Rico Dowdle, who previously played for Carolina, previously noted that the upcoming matchup against his former team is circled on his calendar.
