Risacher's ability to impact the game on the defensive end has been league-best. Did the Hawks make a mistake trading him away?
Soaring Down South argues that the Atlanta Hawks may regret trading Zaccharie Risacher following his defensive resurgence with the Dallas Mavericks. Writer Ian Kearney highlights that the former first overall pick is currently tied for the NBA lead in combined steals and blocks alongside teammate Cooper Flagg and Victor Wembanyama.
The article notes that Risacher struggled with consistency and playing time under Hawks coach Quin Snyder before being traded for Lu Dort. Under Mavericks coach Dusty May, Risacher has earned praise for his improved conditioning, defensive motor, and switchability, with Kearney suggesting Dallas has unlocked a major breakout contributor.
