The Calgary Flames have placed goaltender Devin Cooley on injured reserve after he sustained a lower-body injury on Wednesday night against the Edmonton Oilers. Cooley was hurt following a heavy collision in the crease with Oilers forward Colton Dach. Although he finished the first period, he did not return for the rest of the game.
Cooley expressed optimism on social media regarding his recovery, noting he aims to use the time off to improve physically and mentally. The injury halts a strong stretch for Cooley, who holds a 4-3-0 record, had won four consecutive games, and recently earned NHL Second Star of the Week honors.
