The Houston Rockets have officially exercised the fourth-year team option on guard Reed Sheppard's contract, keeping him under deal through the 2027-28 season. The former third overall draft pick will become eligible for restricted free agency following the conclusion of that campaign.
Sheppard has averaged 10.5 points and 4.8 assists per game across the first four games of the season while serving in both starting and bench roles. Brett Peeples Jr highlights that Sheppard faces intense competition for playing time alongside veteran guards Fred VanVleet and Marcus Smart.
