Egor Dëmin is going to miss at least the next week with a right leg bone bruise. And Brooklyn sorely missed his offense Friday night.

Brooklyn Nets two-way player Chaney Johnson experienced mixed results after starting in place of the injured Egor Demin during a 110-94 home loss to the Detroit Pistons on Friday night. Head coach Jordi Fernández opted to start the 6-foot-7 Johnson in the backcourt rather than turning to guards Keon Ellis or Terance Mann. Demin is expected to miss at least a week due to a right leg bone bruise.
Johnson contributed six points, one steal, and one block across 18 minutes while defending Pistons guard Cade Cunningham, who scored 20 points on 6-of-15 shooting. Teammate Michael Porter Jr. noted that positional adjustments affected team offensive execution, though Fernández praised Johnson's defensive effort and intensity. Brooklyn continues its schedule on Sunday against the Indiana Pacers.
