Matt Hamshaw’s first stint at Sheffield Wednesday ended in tears. Now he’s leading a fresh charge at S6.

Matt Hamshaw is preparing to lead Sheffield Wednesday into Sunday's match against Blackpool in what could be the final game of his tenure as interim manager. The fixture marks a full-circle moment for the former Owls winger, who was released in tears by the club in May 2005 shortly after celebrating promotion. Hamshaw rejoined Sheffield Wednesday's coaching staff in August after departing Rotherham United earlier this year.
Hamshaw emphasized his belief in the club's current leadership, pointing out positive structural and cosmetic improvements underway across Hillsborough and the training facilities. Although Wednesday are actively searching for a permanent manager, Hamshaw expressed hope that he will remain part of the club's future backroom staff.
