Scaling the Rocks: Brennan Bernardino cruising to Motown?

Purple Row highlights speculation from SI.com suggesting the Detroit Tigers could pursue Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Brennan Bernardino via trade. The veteran left-hander posted a 2.81 ERA across 64 innings in 2026. James Riggenbach notes that while Bernardino is approaching 35, he remains affordable and under team control, meaning Colorado should only move him if Detroit offers a worthwhile return.

The roundup also reviews Kyle Freeland's uncertain future following a difficult 4-12 season with a 6.65 ERA. Additionally, Rockies prospects Sean Sullivan, Stu Flesland, and Fidel Ulloa combined for a shutout in the Arizona Fall League, while across the league, the Houston Astros hired Randy Flores as general manager.
