The 35th Dixie Dean Memorial Award Evening took place at Goodison Park on Friday…

Writer Chris Beesley argues that Jack Grealish could have learned what it means to be an Evertonian by attending the 35th Dixie Dean Memorial Award Evening, which honored club legend Johnny Morrissey. Grealish recently faced disciplinary action from manager David Moyes and was dropped for a Carabao Cup tie against Newcastle United after missing a training session.
The event at Goodison Park celebrated Morrissey, an 86-year-old two-time league champion who joined Everton from Liverpool in 1962. Attendees included former players Peter Reid and Ronny Goodlass, alongside members of Dixie Dean's family.
