Key Things to Know
  • Miami Marlins prospect Dillon Lewis called joining the Arizona Fall League a no-brainer following injury-shortened action.

The Story in 60 Seconds

Miami Marlins No. 11 prospect Dillon Lewis considered playing in the Arizona Fall League an easy choice after a fractured hamate bone disrupted his 2024 season. Lewis had surgery to repair the fracture in his right hand, which sidelined him for seven weeks and limited his power down the stretch with Double-A Pensacola.

Now playing for the Glendale Desert Dogs, the 23-year-old outfielder is using the AFL to regain his confidence and hand strength after hitting .275 across his first 13 games. Lewis hopes the additional development and reps will position him to make an impact in the Marlins organization next spring.
