A bad bounce, as they say.

Writer Jonathan Bailey argues that the Philadelphia Flyers are unlikely to be a realistic destination for Nikita Kucherov despite having ample salary cap space. Following reports that Kucherov requested a trade from the Tampa Bay Lightning, insider reporting indicates the superstar winger is seeking to join another elite NHL talent. Bailey suggests Philadelphia's struggling on-ice performance and current roster make them an improbable fit.
Kucherov reportedly holds a 10-team approved trade list and is entering unrestricted free agency seeking a significant raise from his $9.5 million salary. Bailey also notes that adding the veteran forward could hinder the development of 21-year-old winger Matvei Michkov, as both occupy similar roles on the ice.
