Carl Jammes Martin earned an upset split decision victory over David Picasso to claim the WBC Silver featherweight title after ten rounds. Despite facing height and reach disadvantages, the unbeaten Filipino southpaw dictated the pace and outworked Picasso to capture the decision on the scorecards, which read 96-93 Martin, 95-94 Picasso, and 95-95 Martin.
Picasso struggled to establish his jab and conceded the center of the ring, leaving him reliant on isolated counters. Moving up in weight, Martin maintained an aggressive tempo and landed cleaner power punches inside, securing the signature win and strengthening his position for future world title opportunities.
