High school football: City Section playoff pairings

The Los Angeles Times has released the playoff pairings and schedule for the high school football City Section postseason. Open Division action begins with the quarterfinals on Friday, November 13, featuring top seed Carson hosting No. 8 Palisades, while No. 2 San Pedro hosts No. 7 Dorsey. Other Open Division matchups include No. 5 King/Drew at No. 4 Birmingham and No. 6 Crenshaw at No. 3 Cleveland.

First-round games for Divisions I, II, and III are scheduled for Friday, November 6, headlined by Granada Hills Kennedy, Jefferson, and Roosevelt taking top seeds in their respective divisions. An eight-team 8-Man playoff bracket was also announced, led by No. 1 East Valley. The 8-Man championship will take place on November 21, with the 11-man finals scheduled for November 27 or 28.
