Ducks Place Nick Jensen on Waivers

The Anaheim Ducks have placed veteran defenseman Nick Jensen on waivers. The move clears a roster spot to activate defenseman Pavel Mintyukov from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Ottawa Senators. Jensen, who signed a two-year, $4.5 million contract with the Ducks during the summer, struggled to secure a regular lineup spot following a torn meniscus that cut short his previous season.

If Jensen clears waivers, he is expected to be reassigned to the AHL's San Diego Gulls, providing Anaheim with $1.225 million in cap relief. Head coach Joel Quenneville confirmed Mintyukov is set to return from a four-game absence due to a lower-body injury, leaving the Ducks with eight active defensemen.
