After a four-game victorious road trip out West, the Habs returned home to host Pittsburgh on Saturday. It was far from a pretty effort but Montreal did just enough to secure the 5-4 victory.

The Montreal Canadiens concluded October with a 5-4 home victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday following a four-game road trip out West. In a high-scoring contest, Montreal got goals from Oliver Kapanen, Chris Kreider, Alexandre Texier, and two from Josh Anderson to edge past the Penguins.
Pittsburgh scored through Erik Karlsson, Tommy Novak, Rickard Rakell, and Sidney Crosby, who cut the deficit late in the third period. Goaltender Jacob Fowler secured the win in net for Montreal as Phillip Danault skated in his 800th career NHL game.
