The New York Yankees are not renewing the contracts of special assistants Omar Minaya and Brian Sabean following a 3-0 ALDS sweep by the Tampa Bay Rays. Both veteran baseball executives, who served as advisers to general manager Brian Cashman since January 2023, will not return for the 2027 season.
The front-office shakeup also includes the departures of scouts Tommy Wilson and Pat Murtaugh, alongside the hiring of former big-league reliever Frank Herrmann for global evaluation and player-development integration.
