The Australian Jillaroos set a new Women's Rugby League World Cup record by defeating Wales 124-6 in their final Pool A match. Australia crossed for 20 tries to one, recording the highest score in international rugby league history and surpassing both men's and women's tournament scoring benchmarks. Winger Jaime Chapman led the scoring onslaught with six tries, while centre Jess Sergis added four.
Australia led 60-0 at halftime before surpassing the 100-point mark in the second half. Wales scored their lone consolation try when Paige Travis pounced on a Tayla Preston kick with ten minutes remaining. Having already booked a semi-final against Fiji, the Jillaroos rested regular halfback Jocelyn Kelleher, while coach Jess Skinner rotated several players into the starting lineup.
