Sheffield Wednesday’s next manager has been all but confirmed.

Sheffield Wednesday has reached an agreement to appoint former Stockport County manager Dave Challinor as their new boss following the sacking of Henrik Pedersen. Former Premier League defender Clint Hill is expected to join Challinor at Hillsborough as his assistant, reuniting their established coaching partnership. Challinor is set to attend the team's League One fixture against Blackpool.
The appointment also reunites Challinor with Sheffield Wednesday sporting director Simon Wilson, who worked with him at Stockport. Club leadership, including CEO David Bruce, held talks with multiple candidates before selecting Challinor to guide the club's medium and long-term project. Additional coaching staff appointments are also expected to follow.
