Head coach Tonda Eckert believes Southampton must make set-pieces one of their biggest strengths if they are to challenge for promotion this season.
Southampton head coach Tonda Eckert has demanded his side improve their set-pieces if they want to sustain a Championship promotion push. Eckert emphasized the issue following Southampton's 4-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers, where Keven Schlotterbeck scored Saints' third goal from a Ryan Manning corner delivery.
While pleased with Southampton extending their unbeaten home league run to 17 matches, Eckert stressed that set-plays must become a key strength. Richard Kone scored for QPR before substitute Welington sealed the win with the final kick of the match.
