The Story in 60 Seconds

The Minnesota Vikings decided not to elevate wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. from their practice squad ahead of their Week 8 game against the Detroit Lions. Beckham Jr. previously signed to Minnesota's practice squad following his release from the New York Giants, where he went without a catch in three regular-season games. The decision means the veteran receiver will wait at least another week to make his on-field debut for the Vikings.

Minnesota head coach Kevin O'Connell praised Beckham's presence on the practice squad, noting the team evaluates his elevation on a week-to-week basis. The Vikings have two standard practice squad elevations remaining for Beckham Jr. before they would be required to sign him to the active 53-man roster.
