The Houston Rockets defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 119-98 on Halloween, bouncing back from an NBA Cup loss the night before. Facing an injury-hit Thunder squad missing Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams, Houston led early and maintained control behind standout performances from Jabari Smith Jr., Alperen Sengun, and Marcus Smart.
Smith led the Rockets with 30 points, while Sengun recorded 16 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists after returning from back soreness. Starting in place of the resting Fred VanVleet, Smart added 24 points by making seven of his 10 three-point attempts, helping Houston secure the victory.
