New Orleans Pelicans head coach Jamahl Mosley altered his starting lineup following absences from Dejounte Murray and Jordan Poole, sparking consecutive victories. Herbert Jones started in place of Murray, while Karlo Matkovic replaced DeAndre Jordan at center. Guard Jeremiah Fears delivered a breakout 22-point, 13-assist performance against the Sacramento Kings to help earn the team's first win of the season.
Mosley retained the new starting lineup for a subsequent victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Murray attended Saturday's game following the birth of his son but rested, while former Pelicans guard CJ McCollum received a warm reception in his return to New Orleans.
