Liverpool secured the future of their midfield with mammoth contract deals but one player isn't currently giving value for money…
Ryan Gravenberch is reportedly facing a battle to keep his starting midfield spot at Liverpool ahead of an upcoming Premier League clash against Arsenal. The 24-year-old midfielder, who reportedly earns around £277,000 per week, has struggled for form this season following a red card against Manchester City and a poor display against Chelsea in the EFL Cup.
Peter Staunton notes that 19-year-old midfielder Trey Nyoni is now pushing to replace Gravenberch in the lineup under manager Andoni Iraola. Nyoni's recent strong performances have significantly raised his standing within the squad, placing Gravenberch's starting position in immediate jeopardy.
