The month of October is over; hockey season is in full swing; and it’s time to talk about the things concerning the Minnesota Wild. So far, they’ve had to deal…

The Hockey Writers highlights three key concerns for the Minnesota Wild following the first month of the season: significant injuries, the unresolved contract situation regarding Quinn Hughes, and fluctuating special teams play. Despite these issues across their first 15 games, Minnesota has managed to stay near the top of the league standings under head coach John Hynes.
On the injury front, goaltender Filip Gustavsson remains on long-term injured reserve, Brock Faber suffered a preseason skull fracture, and captain Jared Spurgeon is week-to-week with a lower-body injury. Meanwhile, general manager Bill Guerin confirmed he has not talked with Hughes' camp recently, leaving the star defenseman's long-term future in Minnesota unsettled.
