Former New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan strongly criticized Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown. Ryan responded angrily after Jeanty claimed that some New York defenders avoided making tackles ahead of the Week 8 matchup between the Raiders and the Jets at MetLife Stadium.
Defending Jets linebacker Demario Davis, whom he drafted in 2012, Ryan called Jeanty soft on live television and broke down film pointing out instances where the running back avoided physical contact. Ryan also criticized Jeanty's recent form, noting his 3.1 yards-per-carry average during Las Vegas' four-game losing streak.
