Jim McLennan of AZ Snake Pit has opened nominations for the 2026 SnakePit Awards Play of the Year. Arizona Diamondbacks community members are invited to submit and recommend top defensive and offensive moments to help determine the final ballot. The final shortlist typically features five nominees, traditionally broken down into one home run, two infield plays, and two outfield plays.
Several candidate highlights were listed across the 2026 campaign, including walk-off home runs by Ketel Marte and Ryan Waldschmidt, as well as an inside-the-park homer by Geraldo Perdomo. Key defensive plays feature contributions from Corbin Carroll, Alek Thomas, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Gabriel Moreno, and Nolan Arenado. The final nominees will be compiled mid-week based on community recommendations.
