Ode Osbourne refused to tap out to Cody Durden.
Ode Osbourne stated he was willing to break his back rather than tap out during his bout against Cody Durden at UFC Vegas 123 in Las Vegas. Durden secured a deep twister submission attempt in the opening round before eventually earning a unanimous decision victory via wrestling.
Osbourne explained on Instagram that defending the submission caused severe pain, drained his stamina, and hindered his performance for the rest of the fight. He confirmed plans to have medical professionals examine his back to ensure he avoided serious injury, while vowing to return stronger.
