He was released last month..

Nene Macdonald has indicated he is closing the door on Super League and targeting a return to the NRL following his release from St Helens. The Papua New Guinea international left the Saints by mutual consent last month after one season, making him a free agent available without a transfer fee.
Speaking after Papua New Guinea's defeat to England, Macdonald expressed his desire to play in Australia again and confirmed he is seeking opportunities. He also shared his ambition to potentially join the PNG Chiefs when the team enters the competition.
