Dave Challinor watched The Owls’ draw against Blackpool on Sunday…

Interim manager Matt Hamshaw has predicted exciting times ahead for Sheffield Wednesday following the appointment of Dave Challinor as manager. Challinor, who watched Wednesday's 1-1 draw against Blackpool from the stands on Sunday, is the first managerial hire made by the club's ownership group Arise since their May takeover.
The 51-year-old manager reunites with sporting director Simon Wilson at Hillsborough after the pair previously worked together at Stockport County. Challinor brings extensive experience to the role, having achieved seven managerial promotions across spells with Stockport, Hartlepool United, AFC Fylde, and Colwyn Bay.
