Southampton has never looked back after getting rid of Will Still.

Kelan Sarson writes that Southampton's decision to dismiss manager Will Still one year ago ultimately saved the club from disaster. Still managed only four wins from his 16 matches in charge before being sacked following a 2-0 home defeat to Preston North End.
Tonda Eckert replaced Still and completely transformed the team, securing 28 victories in his first 46 Championship matches. Sarson notes that players such as James Bree and Finn Azaz have flourished under Eckert's guidance, establishing Southampton as promotion contenders.
