Yorke names manager Man Utd should ‘go and get’ after Carrick sack – ‘best in the business’

Former Manchester United forward Dwight Yorke has urged the club to hire Aston Villa manager Unai Emery if they dismiss Michael Carrick. Speaking on talkSPORT, Yorke called Emery the best manager in the business and urged INEOS to pay whatever compensation Villa demands. Manchester United are winless in nine matches across all competitions and sit just above the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference.

Journalist David Ornstein reported that Aston Villa are not worried about losing Emery, who remains under contract without a release clause. Ornstein added that Manchester United decided to give Carrick an opportunity to turn results around following the squad's reaction to being booed off against Bournemouth, while Fabrizio Romano indicated Carrick will be given time until at least the international break.
