The changing of the guard at the NRL continues, with a former Dragons premiership winner and Test centre brought in to fill a senior role.
NRL executive chairman Peter V'landys has brought former Australia and New South Wales representative Mark Gasnier into a senior role aimed at driving participation. The 45-year-old premiership winner is understood to be the latest key appointment as V'landys reshapes the governing body's executive team following several departures from Moore Park headquarters.
Gasnier brings extensive sports administration experience, having created Tri Tag Rugby and previously worked with OzTag. His appointment comes after V'landys took over day-to-day operations as full-time executive chairman following former chief executive Andrew Abdo's departure to Tennis Australia earlier this year.
