The Los Angeles Lakers left Sunday with their fifth victory, but JJ Redick finished the night reconsidering who he could trust to close a game. A comfortable cushion against Toronto shrank in the final minutes, forcing the coach to reverse…

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick took responsibility for prematurely benching his starters during a 131-125 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Holding a 123-109 lead with under two minutes remaining, Redick pulled his key players, only for Toronto to mount an 11-2 run fueled by Lakers turnovers and missed free throws. Redick was forced to reinsert starters including Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves to secure the win.
Following the game, Redick warned his reserves that future playing time requires full readiness to play until the final buzzer. He also expressed frustration with players passing up open three-point shots when opponents double-team Doncic, cautioning that he will remove anyone who hesitates to shoot open looks.
