The Story in 60 Seconds

The New York Mets completed a series of roster transactions on Monday to reach 40-man roster compliance ahead of the offseason. New York claimed right-handed pitchers Jack Anderson from the Minnesota Twins and Pierson Ohl from the Colorado Rockies off waivers. The Mets also lost right-hander Cameron Weston to the Miami Marlins and left-hander Philip Abner to the Baltimore Orioles on waiver claims.

To manage their roster space, the Mets outrighted Eric Wagaman and Cristian Pache, with Wagaman electing free agency. Infielders Christian Cairo and Kyren Paris signed split deals before being designated for assignment. These moves allowed the Mets to reinstate Jorge Polanco, Tylor Megill, and Reed Garrett from the 60-day injured list, bringing the 40-man roster to exactly 40.
