Not too long ago, these courts were run down and almost unusable.

Sixth graders inaugurated three newly renovated basketball courts at Fish Playground in Brooklyn with a free youth clinic on Monday. The upgrade was funded by New York Liberty owner Clara Wu Tsai's Social Justice Fund in partnership with NYC Parks. Officials, including NYC Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura and Social Justice Fund executive director Gregg Bishop, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The renovated courts feature repaved grey, black, and seafoam green surfaces, six new backboards, wooden benches, and refurbished fencing. The initiative is part of a $2.89 million investment by the Social Justice Fund to improve 13 basketball courts across five Brooklyn parks.
