The Charlotte Hornets will not exercise forward Tidjane Salaun's fourth-year team option for the 2027/28 season, worth $10,445,632. The move was confirmed after Charlotte previously exercised options on Kon Knueppel and Liam McNeeley without mentioning Salaun. The former 2024 sixth overall pick was the first player drafted by executive Jeff Peterson.
Salaun has struggled to cement a regular rotation spot, averaging 5.9 points and 4.3 rebounds across 103 career games entering Monday. Declining the option puts the 21-year-old on track to reach unrestricted free agency during the 2027 offseason.
