After an underwhelming 2026 season with the New York Yankees, Jazz Chisholm Jr. is now a free agent. The popular consensus seems to be that the Bronx Bombers will not look to re-sign him.

New York Mets fans reacted strongly against a proposal by pundit Ryan Finkelstein suggesting the team sign free-agent infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. to a one-year, $30 million contract. Speaking on the Locked on Mets podcast, Finkelstein suggested the deal to help Chisholm bounce back, but supporters quickly rejected the idea on social media.
Chisholm became a free agent following the New York Yankees' postseason elimination by the Tampa Bay Rays. The second baseman stated he prefers to reunite with the Yankees, finishing his 2026 campaign with a .231 batting average, 19 home runs, and 55 RBIs.
