Carson Benge may have missed on receiving a Gold Glove Award, but Monday he became a finalist for an even more prestigious honor.

New York Mets outfielder Carson Benge was named a finalist for National League Rookie of the Year alongside Cincinnati's Sal Stewart and St. Louis' JJ Wetherholt. The 23-year-old produced a .282/.346/.430 slash line with 20 home runs and 65 RBIs while leading NL right fielders with 10 assists. The award winner is scheduled to be announced next week.
Ahead of the 40-man roster deadline, the Mets claimed right-handed pitchers Jack Anderson and Pierson Ohl off waivers. The team also reinstated Reed Garrett, Tylor Megill, and Jorge Polanco from the 60-day injured list while completing several minor roster adjustments.
