Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane will miss the next couple of games due to an upper-body injury, according to head coach Jeff Blashill. Kane sustained the injury during Chicago's 5-2 loss against the Colorado Avalanche, exiting midway through the second period at 14:53 after logging just 10:20 of ice time. The team confirmed he would not return, but no official timeframe has been announced.
Kane has recorded one goal and eight assists in nine games this season, placing him second on the Blackhawks in scoring behind Connor Bedard. The veteran forward recently became the first U.S.-born player to reach 900 career assists, trailing only Sidney Crosby among active NHL players.
