Former Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Bob Heinz passed away on October 31, 2026, at the age of 79. His son, John, confirmed that he died of natural causes at his home in Fresno, California, four years after being diagnosed with heart failure. Heinz was a prominent member of Miami's legendary undefeated 1972 roster and became the 22nd player from that historic squad to pass away.

Drafted by Miami in the second round in 1969, Heinz played eight seasons with the Dolphins and won back-to-back Super Bowls in 1972 and 1973.
