The NRL will launch a rescue package to help rugby league in France - irrespective of whether or not it strikes a deal with Super League.

The National Rugby League is preparing an investment and rescue package to support rugby league in France. ARLC chairman Peter V'landys confirmed that assisting the French game is high on the NRL's agenda following meetings with French officials and Trent Robinson. The proposed deal will proceed independently of any agreement with Super League.
French officials traveled to Australia earlier this year to discuss developmental support following a winless World Cup campaign. Robinson confirmed ongoing talks with V'landys and NRL general manager Dean Bosnich to establish a long-term plan, while any potential Super League partnership appears delayed until at least 2028.
