Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback Sam Darnold has been ruled out of the upcoming Week 9 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals at Lumen Field. Head coach Mike Macdonald announced that Darnold is considered week-to-week after sustaining a quad injury and hurting his ribs during Monday night's loss to the Chicago Bears.
Backup quarterback Drew Lock will return to the starting lineup to replace Darnold, having missed the past two games with a right elbow injury. Lock previously started against Arizona in Week 2, leading Seattle to a 31-7 victory, and will face Cardinals quarterback Gardner Minshew II, who replaced Jacoby Brissett.
