Inside The Star writer Cody Warren argues that the Dallas Cowboys will struggle to attract top head coaching candidates to replace Brian Schottenheimer due to restrictive, expensive player contracts. Warren highlights that quarterback Dak Prescott's contract runs through 2028 with a no-trade clause and an estimated $76 million cap hit in 2027, which he believes may deter coaches wanting roster flexibility.
Warren also points to high-priced contracts for cornerback DaRon Bland, tackle Terence Steele, and defensive lineman Kenny Clark as major concerns for an incoming coach.
