Jerry Jones has ignited a debate about NFL coaching salaries. Does he need to try a different approach? It has been ‘open season’ on the…

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has confirmed his stance against paying high salaries for NFL head coaches, declaring on 105.3 The Fan that there is zero correlation between coach pay and winning. Following a collapse against the Arizona Cardinals that dropped the team to 3-5, Jones affirmed he is backing head coach Brian Schottenheimer despite external criticism over the coach's $4.5 million annual salary.
NFL insider Jane Slater expressed surprise that Jones publicly acknowledged his reluctance to pay premium coaching wages on record. Slater noted that an agent previously laughed off potential Cowboys interest in a veteran candidate, stating Jones would not meet a $13 million starting salary, while top league earners like Andy Reid and John Harbaugh make $20 million per year.
