The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defenseman Emil Andrae and veteran forward Danton Heinen on waivers, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. Reassigning both players to the AHL's Cleveland Monsters would create $2.225 million in cap space for Columbus.
Andrae was originally acquired right before the 2026-27 season as part of a blockbuster trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs, but NHL tagging rules likely prevent Toronto from claiming him back. Heinen, who signed a one-year, $1 million deal in the offseason, went scoreless in his first 10 games.
