Joel Embiid hasn't faced Jalen Duren in a long time. That matchup will keep on waiting.

Joel Embiid is set to play for the Philadelphia 76ers against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, but the matchup will not feature an anticipated battle against Jalen Duren. Detroit's All-NBA center remains sidelined due to a right hamstring strain sustained against the Miami Heat on October 23, ruling him out of the game.
The Sixers, who previously lost to the Pistons while experimenting without Embiid, will instead see Embiid face former teammate Paul Reed. The author notes that injuries have prevented Embiid and Duren from facing each other since February 2025, delaying another test between the two Eastern Conference teams at full strength.
