Lucas Herbert is one of many pros who have left LIV Golf this fall. He revealed the reason he quit the league as it looks to launch LIV 2.0.

Lucas Herbert announced he is leaving LIV Golf, explaining that the proposed 10-tournament schedule for LIV Golf 2.0 does not offer enough playing opportunities to prepare for major championships. The Australian golfer, who previously won twice on the circuit and tied for sixth at the 2026 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, stated on the Tee It Up Podcast that his decision was driven by performance and career priorities rather than financial factors.
Herbert's departure comes as LIV Golf navigates Chapter 11 bankruptcy following the withdrawal of funding by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. Although CEO Scott O’Neil secured potential backing from BC Partners Global, several prominent players including Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Sergio Garcia, and Ian Poulter have also exited the organization, while Bryson DeChambeau remains committed to launching the restructured tour.
